Bodog.com is an online gambling portal offering online casino, online poker and sports betting services, licensed by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission and operated by the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group (MMGG).
In December 2010, the MMGG took the decision to expand internationally and to replace Bodog.com with Bodog.eu, that represents a “global domain”.
“The experience of history tells us not to stand still and we feel this more global domain will appeal more directly to the new markets we plan to enter. We did the deal with BodogBrand.com for the .eu domain last year but are ready to cut over globally now,” said Alwyn Morris, CEO of MMGG.
“Like many in the gaming world we will be looking at Asia very closely and there are many markets that Bodog88.com, the brand’s Asian facing licensee, is not interested in. We also have our eyes on some exciting market opportunities in Latin America.”
From now on, if you try to visit bodog.com, you will be met with the following message: “The website and all of our services remain the same, only our home base has changed as we continue to expand into new markets”.
Apparently, the online gambling portal continues to offer services to US players. Since the changing of the domain extension coincides with the Black Friday, many think that the real reason for the change is to escape from the US federal authorities.
