Don Johnson, 49, of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, the CEO of Heritage Development LLC, says he is the player who has won about $15 million overall at three Atlantic City casinos in less than six months.
The blackjack player told The Press of Atlantic City that he was thankful for his run of good luck, although he did recognize he had lost significant amounts during this hot streak and that he had paid “millions in taxes” as well.
Don Johnson, CEO of a firm that specializes in utilizing computer-assisted betting software in the field of horse racing, is considered responsible for a 20% fall in the Tropicana Casino's April revenue figures, after winning $5.8 million at their live blackjack tables. He is the same blackjack player who won $5 million at the Borgata and over $4 million at Caesars Casino.
“I’ll take luck over any other skill. There’s no magic to this. Eventually, someone would whack them. I’m just glad it was me.”
“They [casinos] beat most people in the long run because the average person won’t have the bankroll. But I have my own bankroll. If you can take the swings, you’re going to win. You also have to understand the math.”
The lucky player dismissed suggestions of card-counting and claimed he managed to beat the three Atlantic City casinos using his own skills. He said he started playing blackjack 15 years ago and the experience helped him understand that raising the bets from $25 to $100,000 per hand, can help him win record amounts.
