Two of the Team Full Tilt members Chris “Jesus” Ferguson and Howard “The Professor” Lederer have decided to resign from their positions on the board of the Poker Players Alliance (PPA).
Both players have been members of the PPA lobby group since 2006. Here is what Howard Lederer stated when he joined the PPA:
“Poker is under attack by Congress, and I believe that all poker players should join the PPA and tell Capitol Hill that we do not want the Federal government to ban an American tradition that we love.”
It seems like the reason of the unexpected resignation from the board is the association of Lederer and Ferguson with Full Tilt Poker. Lederer worked as a consultant to Full Tilt Poker's parent company PocketKings ltd, while Chris Ferguson has been involved in the development of the FTP platform. Both members have ownership shares in the company.
Neither the PPA Board of Directors, nor the two players have not yet made any official statement or comment on the situation. The Poker Players Alliance’s Board of Directors now includes Chairman Alphonse D’Amato, Executive Director John Pappas, as well as Rich Muny, Linda Johnson, Greg Raymer, and Patrick Fleming.
