According to the bwin.party digital entertainment plc CEO Jim Ryan, the company has registered a 33% increase in new-player sing-ups during the last weeks period.
The newly merged company created by Bwin and PartyGaming, has reported an influx of online poker registrations, especially after the US shutdown of three of the most famous online poker rooms: PokerStars, FullTilt Poker and Absolute Poker. The three online poker giants were charged with bank fraud, because they continued offering poker to American players despite the US ban.
"Following steps taken by the U.S. government to enforce its laws, we have seen an uplift in new player sign-ups on our poker sites despite the impact of seasonality. While this represents only a short trading period, it is nonetheless encouraging," CEO Jim Ryan said on Friday.
Apparently, the influx of players that are relocating from PokerStars, FullTilt Poker and Absolute Poker will boost the company's online poker profits this year.
