The Indian market research firm AM Mindpower Solutions, a leading market research and information service provider in India, has completed a new study on the Indian gambling industry. The report observed the gaming sector by business segment and by geography.
Despite the global attempts to restrict or ban the internet gambling industry, the research company has noted a 18.21 compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the period 2002 -2010.
The Indian research gives a complete analysis of the global online gaming market, with Europe standing on top accounting for the highest percentage of the global online gaming market and closely followed by North America.
According to the AM Mindpower Solutions, the Asia-Pacific area has a strong potential in the land gambling sector, with Macau being the leading gambling jurisdiction in APAC region. Also, the impact of the global recession was felt less in the Asian casino industry than elsewhere in the world.
“In 2009 Asian (land) casinos grew by 3.41% and showed further positive growth in the first half of 2010 of 2.88% compared to the same period last year,” the study reveals.
“In China, sports lottery accounted for 41.88% of the total lottery market while the Welfare lottery contributed 58.44%.
“Rising income levels in the middle class with a growing trend toward women in the workplace is a driving factor for the casino and gaming industry in Asia-Pacific,” it is said in the report.
AM Mindpower Solutions founded in 2007, is a leading market research and information service provider in India, which offers industry research, company profiles and Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity and Venture capital deal directories to the clients across a spectrum of industries.
