On Sunday, February 13th, the tenth European Poker Awards gala rewarded the best players for 2010, in a glittering ceremony at the Queenie Club in Paris, France.
Last year was amazing for the British poker players who dominated the 2011 European Poker Awards ceremony, winning five out of eight awards.
The young British player Jake Cody was the only double winner of the ceremony, taking home two of the most coveted awards: The Player of the Year and The Rookie of the Year, for a great 2010 which include the EPT Deauville and the WPT London title.
Cody was nominated for the Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year awards alongside the British Toby Lewis, the Scottish David Vamplew, Julian Herold from Germany, Fernando Brito from Portugal, the Danish Theo Jorgensen, Sam Trickett from England and Vladimir Schemelev – Russia.
Here are the winners of the tenth edition of the European Poker Awards ceremony:
Player of the Year - Jake Cody (England);
Poker Staff Person of the Year - Gerard Serra Retamero, TK Events (Spain);
Internet Player of the Year - Andreas 'Skjervøy' Torbergsen (Norway);
Outstanding Tournament Performance - James Bord (England);
Europe's Leading Lady - Liv Boeree (England);
Rookie of the Year - Jake Cody (England);
Lifetime Achievement Award (decided by the votes of the nomination panel) - Nic Nzeremeta (England);
Rob Gardner Memorial Award for the Poker Personality of 2010 - Tony 'G' Guoga (Lithuania).
