The official British Columbia online gambling site, PlayNow.com, has awarded its first major prize to a Vancouver Island resident. The winner hit the website's online lottery jackpot for Cdn$7.6 million.
Judith Pennyfeather purchased the lottery 6/49 ticket on BC's online gambling website, matching 6/6 numbers on the 4th of December last year. The woman said she was overwhelmed by the win and that she hasn't yet decided what to do with her winnings.
The BCLC President & CEO Michael Graydon said the British Columbia was absolutely delighted that “Miss Pennyfeather has set a new record as not only the largest ever online lottery jackpot winner in BC, but in all of Canada” and congratulated the woman for the exceptional win.
"It was a surprise to get the email in my inbox," said Judith Pennyfeather, who received an automatic notification email through PlayNow.com informing her of her win. "It was so easy to just purchase my lottery ticket online, but you still never expect to win such a huge prize."
Playnow.com is an online gambling website especially created for residents of British Columbia, Canada who have turned 19. The website is part of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation site and it is divided into gaming categories: Lottery, Casino, Sports, Games and Bingo.
Players can purchase lottery tickets or bet on their favourite sports online. The website also offers slot machine games, table games such as Roulette, Baccarat, Blackjack, Red Dog and Sic Bo.
