H2 Gambling Capital Show Online Gambling Growth
added on 2011-01-06 03:57:06

The UK online gambling monitor H2 Gambling Capital has shown that, despite the global economic downturn, the online gambling market has registered a 12.5 percent rise in gross win year-on-year in 2010.

The online casino and bingo websites represented a major component, with gross win revenues in the bingo sector of 28.4 percent over 2009, reaching $2.67 billion in 2010. The online casino sector had the second highest growth rate of 13.3 percent, reaching $2.67 billion.

H2 Gambling Capital, the monitoring group for the gaming industry, has also shown the online poker contribution to the general growth, with a rise of only 7.1 percent of up to $5.06 million.
It seems like the recently opened French and Italian online poker markets have played their part in the growth of this gaming vertical. Without the French and Italian online poker liberalization, the gross win revenue would have actually fallen.

According to the H2 Gambling Capital, the biggest gaming sector in 2010 remained the online betting, which was up 10.8 percent to $12.1 billion, thanks to a huge global interest in football betting during the World Cup 2010.

Also, the H2 Gambling Capital predicts positive regulatory changes in Belgium, Denmark, Greece and Spain, that would help the online industry to enjoy a more significant growth in the years to come.
