The PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona has recently crowned its winner at the Casino the Barcelona in Spain. 758 players tried their luck by entering the €5300 buy-in event, but only 112 of them shared the €3,790,000 prize pool.
Kent Ludmark, the 22 year-old Swedish player from Stockholm dominated the final table and eliminated five players on his way to victory. He started the heads-up battle with 12,405,000 in chips, versus his opponent's Jesus Cortes Lizano 10,550, 000.
The final hand saw Ludmark raising to 320,000 Lizano re-raising it to 880,000 and then calling for Lundmark's all-in shove. The Swedish showed his ace-queen which held up against Lizano's king-jack.
Ludmark is not on his first win in a poker tournament, although this was by far his biggest pay day. In January he took part in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure event, which he won for a $66,000 first place prize and soon after that he finished the second in the Nordic Masters Stockholm event for just another $70,000. In August, he made the final table of the European Poker Tour event in Tallin.
The final table payouts of the European Poker Tour Barcelona Main Event were as follows:
1. Kent Lundmark, Sweden, €825,000,
2. Jesus Cortes Lizano, Spain, €525,000,
3. Konstantin Puchkov, Russia, €300,000,
