The $10,000 buy-in tournament is down to his final two players: Jonathan Duhamel and John Racener. Tonight, one of them will become the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion, winning the second largest prize in the history of the WSOP.
It took nearly 13 hours until the final two competitors were decided. Duhamel, who entered the final table as the chip leader and maintained this advantage until the end of the rounds, has an overwhelming chip advantage against Racener, with almost 189 million chips, compared to Racener's nearly 31 million.
“I do feel confident but the thing is John Racener is a very good player though, so I'm going to have to play good poker. He played very great tonight so he deserves to be in the heads up spot,” Duhamel said. “Obviously having the chip lead is an advantage I have so I'm just going to try and use it the best I can and hopefully take the win.”
In order to win the most wanted title in the poker world, John Racener said he needs to begin with doubling up his chips. Racener started playing poker in high school, when he turned the $50 from his mom into $300,000 within six months, from competing in online poker tournaments.
It seems like it is for the third consecutive year when the WSOP Main Event champion will be a player in his 20's, after Peter Eastgate in 2008 and Joe Cada in 2009. Duhamel (23) and Racener (24) will compete for the second largest prize in the history of the World Series of Poker, of $8.9 million, and for the title of the World Champion of Poker. Let the best player win!
