Sam Trickett Claims The World Open VI Title

Sam Trickett is a 24 year-old poker player from England who managed to outlast the other seven finalists at the Palm Beach Casino in Mayfair, London, and earned the PartyPoker World Open VI title. For his first place finish, Trickett was rewarded with $200,000.

The young player faced some of the biggest names in poker, such as Dale Hoy, Juha Helppi, Toby Lewis, Andrew Robl, Yevgeniy Timoshenko and John Duthie. He played the head-up game against Timoshenko and left him with a second place that brought him a payday of $110,000.

“He’s one helluva player, and you’ll be hearing a lot more of Sam Trickett, I can promise you that,” said the professional poker player Mike Sexton, who he was impressed by Trickett's skill and aggressiveness.

The complete final table payouts were:
1. Sam Trickett — $200,000;
2. Yevgeniy Timoshenko — $110,000;
3. Toby Lewis — $75,000;
4. Juha Helppi — $35,000;
5. John Duthie — $25,000;
6. Andrew Robl — $20,000;
7. Dale Hoy — $15,000.

Sam Trickett had six cashes at the 2010 WSOP of almost $700,000, including one-final table and a seventh place finish in the $25,000 Six-Max event. Trickett has also earned the 4th place at the European Poker Tour Vilamoura event, winning over $175,000. His total career winnings exceed $1.7 million.
