The Hungarian Andras Koroknai won the World Poker Tour L.A. Poker Classic 2010. He outlasted a top class field of 745 poker pros, capturing the massive $1,788,001 first place prize.
The $10,000 no-limit hold'em event took place at the Commerce Casino in Southern California.
Andras Koroknai entered the final table of the WPT LA Poker Classic as the chip leader, together with Jean-Claude Moussa, Gevork Kasabyan, Tri Huynh, Raymond Dolan and Michael Kamran.
The first player to leave the final table was Michael Kamran, who won $246,740, followed by Jean-Claude Moussa with $321,840, Gevork Kasabyan with a substantial prize of $450,580 and Tri Huynh, who was rewarded with a massive check of $665,140.
The final battle took place between Koroknai and Raymond Dolan and it didn't last too long, as the Hungarian player was holding 13.4 million chips, while his opponent only had 1.4 million.
With this overwhelming chip advantage, the game ended when Koroknai showed a flush. Dolan took home the impressive amount of $1,002,710.
Big names in poker such as Daniel Negreanu, Carlos Mortensen and Johnny Chan, were present at the World Poker Tour L.A. Poker Classic 2010.
Andras Koroknai walked away with the first prize of $1,788,040 and the title, saying cheerfully: “I'm going to spend all of it!”.
